Tips to get rid of linen wrinkles
Linen clothing is everyone's go-to for hot, humid conditions. They are very light and moisture-wicking. Not to mention the fact that they are lightweight and comfy.
People prefer linen wrinkles for their sheets or drapes because they appear more natural and real. Unfortunately, this is not the case with linen clothing; if heavily wrinkled, linen trousers can readily take on the appearance of pajamas.
It would be a mistake to state that linen is a simple fabric to iron; merely setting the iron to a certain program will most likely not result in wrinkle-free linen trousers. It requires more time, patience, and work.
Anyway, there are several fairly simple ways to remove wrinkles from your linen clothing items quickly and easily.
- Place your wrinkled linen shirt, slacks, or dress on an ironing board.
- Soak an old cotton towel or shirt in tap water. Simply put it under running water to moisten it. It should be moist but not drenched. Then, place it on top of your linen fabric. Don't forget: the greatest fabric is one that is soft and made of cotton. Not terrycloth, though.
- Set the iron to the highest heat and steam setting and begin ironing your linen cloth over the moist cotton piece. Don't forget: make certain that there is only one layer of cotton.
- Remove the top cotton layer after ironing. The creases in your linen should be gone by now.
There is another way to get rid of linen wrinkles on your linen clothes:
- Linen clothing should be dampened before ironing. Wet the cloth just enough to release the linen strands. It is best to do this 5-10 minutes before ironing.
- Ascertain that the iron is filled with water and that the bottom is entirely clean. When ironing linen, use the linen/cotton setting and the highest heat setting.
- Move the iron softly and continuously—leaving the hot iron in one spot can permanently harm the linen cloth.
- After ironing the linen clothes, do not fold them. It's ideal to hang them in a large enough space for them to completely dry. Allow it to hang for at least 15 minutes before wearing it.
With the two tips above, your linen cloth won’t be bothered by these linen wrinkles anymore. Let's try those!
